Associated Fractures
The fractures resulting after dislocation of kneecap believes to happen in almost 10-20% of all the cases of knee dislocations. The most commonly fractures after knee injuries include tibial spine fractures, avulsion fractures, and Segund’s fracture of the tibial lateral condyle. In addition to these fractures, there are various ligament damages and avulsions. The tibial plateau fractures are usually more severe and compromise the usual function of the knee joint. The occurrence of associated fractures is a sign of post-traumatic stress of osteoarthritis. The persistent stiffness and pain in the knees increase the risk of causing more fractures.
