Flexion Deformity
A flexion deformity refers to the inability of the knee to fully extend or straighten. Another name for flexion deformity is a flexion contracture, which shows flexion deformity in one of the knees. The normal active range of motion of the knee is 140 degrees flexion and 0 degrees extension. While in the case of flexion deformity this normal active range of motion drops down significantly. The inadequate physical activity due to chronic pain affects the mobilization and the alignment of the tendons with bone. [4]
