Supports kidneys health
Water is essential to kidney health. The kidneys filter approximately 150 quarts of blood to produce urine, composed of by products, wastes and extra fluid. The body depends on the kidneys to remove these wastes and extra fluid from the blood. Water also helps to:
- Keep blood vessels open so that blood can travel freely throughout the body
- Maintain blood pressure at a healthy level
- Regulate the body’s fluids
- Produce hormones that are essential for life
- Get rid of waste products in the form of urine
If you are not drinking enough water, your kidneys cannot function properly. This can lead to a build-up of toxins and wastes in your body that can make you feel sick.
Makes you work out better
When we sweat during exercise, we lose water and need to replace it to avoid dehydration. Dehydration can cause fatigue, muscle cramps, and heat exhaustion. Drinking water before, during, and after exercise can help you stay hydrated. It is especially important to drink water when it is hot outside or if you are exercising for a long time. If you are thirsty, you are already dehydrated so be sure to drink water regularly even if you don’t feel thirsty.
Water can also help improve your performance during exercise. When you are well-hydrated, your body is able to regulate its temperature better and your muscles can work at their fullest potential.
