Fight inflammation
Omega-3 fatty acids are known for their anti-inflammatory properties. These beneficial fats can be found in fish, nuts, and seeds. They help to reduce inflammation by modulating the inflammatory response. They do this by inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and by promoting the production of anti-inflammatory cytokines. In addition, omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to increase the activity of natural killer cells – a type of WBCs that helps to fight infection.
