Bad breath
It develops quickly in patients suffering from acute bronchitis. It may also indicate chronic bronchitis if it is chronic in nature and you are experiencing it for over a month. It occurs when you constantly breathe through the mouth due to congestion of nasal air passages. As the nose is a natural organ for breathing that holds back all the harmful objects in the air, breathing mostly through the mouth enables the growth of bacteria and other pathogens on the tongue and mucous membranes. This colonization of bacteria can cause bad breath as well as act as a fertile source for other infections in the body. Your doctor generally recommends proper mouth hygiene and nasal decongestants to avoid and treat bad breath. Taking antibiotics to reduce or kill bacteria is generally not recommended.
