Flat or Monotonous Speech
Spoken language can be a big issue for children with autism. Even if the child faces no speech delays or difficulty with pronunciation, they tend to flat or monotonous speech. It is normally said that their speech is machine-like or “monotonic”. The underlying mechanisms are yet to be discovered but research is constantly being done.
