Treatment of meningitis
As meningitis is most commonly due to an active bacterial, viral or fungal infection, the doctors have to treat such patients in the hospital premises. Depending on the type of infection you have, your doctor may prescribe antibiotics, antivirals or antifungal therapy to relieve the symptoms.
In most mild to moderate cases, meningitis gets resolved within a week to so with aggressive treatment protocols and there will be no surgical intervention needed.
