Skin Allergy Test
This test does not help diagnose atopic dermatitis, but it tells either you are allergic to any specific kind of allergen. In the test, a tiny amount of allergen is placed under the skin with a needle’s help if a scratch test is being performed. The allergic reaction of the skin is indicated if the skin becomes red or inflamed with 20 minutes in the scratch test. While in the case of a patch test, the reaction can be seen after 72 hours. But since non-allergic skin irritation is common in people with atopic dermatitis, therefore the tests are considered as entirely accurate.
After the test results, the doctors take further actions to control the spreading of atopic dermatitis. They may recommend medication or any other treatment depending upon the type and severity of the infection
