A Comprehensive Guide To Atopic Dermatitis

Massage

As stress has shown to play a role in triggering atopic dermatitis, relieving the stress can help with atopic dermatitis. When patients of all ages get stressed, they are more likely to scratch their skin as they get itchy and experience flare-up. A massage therapy taught parents of 20 atopic dermatitis patients how to massage their children. The parents gave massages to their children for 20 minutes a day. After one month, when the skin of atopic dermatitis children who took massage for a month was compared with those atopic dermatitis children who did not receive a massage, researchers found a significant improvement in the intensity of atopic dermatitis with the massage. The children who took massage for a month also showed fewer signs of anxiety.
