Eggs
Eggs are a rich source of protein but they also contain 0.5 mcg of vitamin B12 which is 20% of the daily value for vitamin B12. Eggs are a potential source of vitamin B12 but the body is less likely to absorb all the vitamin B12 coming from eggs in comparison to the other animal food sources. A study reports that the body absorbs only 9% of the vitamin B12 from eggs while absorb 40 to 50% of the vitamin B12 from red meat and other animal food sources. Fortunately, consuming eggs on a regular basis can contribute greatly in increasing vitamin B12 levels.
