Pyridoxine is important for carbohydrate and protein metabolism, the formation of certain brain chemicals, and red blood cells production. Vitamin B6 stimulates the brain development and processes, steroid hormone activity, and immune function.

Pyridoxine deficiency
It is rare to develop pyridoxine deficiency. Although the people who consume excessive amounts of alcohol, the elderly, women on contraceptive pills, and the people having thyroid disease are at higher risk of developing pyridoxine deficiency.
