Alopecia Areata (Symptoms, Causes, Types, Treatment, and Home Remedies)

Vitiligo

Vitiligo is another autoimmune skin disorder in which the immune cells attack melanin-producing cells and resulting in white patches on the skin. Vitiligo may be a cause of the occurrence of alopecia areata as both of the diseases share the same pathogenesis. The cytokines and white blood cells involved in vitiligo also attack the hair follicles leading to the development of alopecia areata.
