Anaphylaxis is termed idiopathic when a thorough investigation fails to identify a single cause. All possible common causes like food and drugs, insect venom and latex are carefully excluded to establish a case of idiopathic anaphylaxis. The occurrence of this type is more prominent in adult females, though it may also occur in children.
