Glucocorticoids can also be administered as an expanded treatment program of anaphylaxis. They have a delayed onset of action, which makes them inefficient to resolve early acute symptoms of anaphylaxis. Though there is not enough evidence to establish its efficacy, glucocorticoids are used as preventive strategy to avoid a biphasic anaphylaxis reaction.
