Lung diseases

Lung diseases, including bronchitis and upper respiratory infections, are most common in causing atrial fibrillation in most of the patients; the individuals suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease suffer from a condition known as pulmonary hypertension in which the arteries going to the lungs starts narrowing down or blocks. The blocking or narrowing of pulmonary arteries leads to poor blood circulation to the upper chambers of the heart, which ultimately results in the development of atrial fibrillation.
