Heart attack
The patients with atrial fibrillation are always at higher risk of getting heart attacks. Especially the people of African American ethnicity and even women are at higher risk of attaining heart attacks if they are already suffering from atrial fibrillation. If the affected person does not seek any proper treatment for atrial fibrillation, then the heart muscles start frustrating and lose their function, thus undergoing a heart attack. A heart attack might not always be fatal for the patient, but it is a serious indication of the severity of the damage happening to the heart muscles. The chances of getting a heart attack are also more in the first year of the atrial fibrillation condition after the diagnosis.
