High blood pressure
An increase in the blood pressure causes an increase in the beating of the heart, thus increasing the chances of atrial fibrillation in most of the patient. People who have a history of high blood pressure or hypertension do not live with a normal heart rate, which results in damage to atrial tissues. High blood pressure causes tachycardia, thus causing poor blood flow to the heart muscles, which becomes the cause of irregular heartbeats and the throbbing palpitations that the patient can feel in his or her chest. Some individuals, like older adults and women having hypertension, are more prone to develop the condition of atrial fibrillation.
