Overactive Thyroid Gland
Hyperthyroidism or overactive thyroid happens when our thyroid gland starts producing exceeding amounts of the hormone thyroxin. Hyperthyroidism is one of the metabolic disorders which result in causing an irregular or rapid heart rate and unintentional weight loss. The overactive thyroid glands become a cause of atrial fibrillation when the suffering person does not seek proper treatment for hypothyroidism. The thyroid hormone has a direct impact on the heart, which includes increasing the heart rate and causing palpitations. A person can feel if there is no proper treatment of atrial fibrillation, then it can lead to stroke and heart failure.
