Symptoms Of Brain Tumor
Headaches
Not all headaches are a sign of a brain tumor, but the earliest sign of a brain tumor is headaches. This headache is particularly different from the usual headaches. It is highly localized, dull pain in the head, which may occur during sleep and is worse in the morning and after bending or coughing etc. These headaches progressively worsen in intensity with time, and may not respond to over the counter painkillers in the advanced stages. The patient experiences a sudden onset of pain that is different from the usual headache.
Brain tumors may be asymptomatic in the initial stages. Just as the tumor grows the headaches may present because of the tumor pressing on a nerve, or the tumor ay lead to rise in the pressure of the fluid bathing the brain. This pressure, and/or the swollen tumor presses on the brain membranes and activate pain receptors to cause the characteristic headache.
