History Of Breast Cancer
A woman who has had a history of cancer in one breast, such as invasive breast cancer or DCIS (ductal in situ carcinoma), is three to four times more likely to develop a new, unrelated breast cancer. It can be either in the other breast or some other part of the same breast. This is different from a recurrence of an earlier breast cancer.
