Radiation exposure is known to increase the risk of a lot of cancer types. Most of us never get exposed to sufficient radiation to make a big difference to our risk. Nowadays, physicians keep patient radiation exposure as low as possible. But they really need to do x-rays or CT scans. And the radiation utilized is very small.

Most women are concerned about getting mammograms as a routine part of breast screening, because they are vulnerable to x-rays. Nonetheless, the amount of radiation you get with a mammogram is very low.
