Treatment for stage 2 breast cancer
Surgery is the most common type of treatment for stage 2 breast cancer.
Surgery
Treatment includes removing the cancer through surgical intervention. A person suffering from stage 2A or 2B breast cancer may have an option to undergo a lumpectomy or mastectomy. The size and location of the tumor may determine the surgery required.
Combination therapy
For people with stage 2A or 2B breast cancer, a doctor may recommend a combination of radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and hormone therapy (if the cancer is hormone receptive).
