Hamstring Muscle Tears and Strains
If you have any type of hamstring injury, you’re not alone. Many athletes suffer from this problem, and the thigh pain it causes can be pretty severe. Even if you’re not an athlete, you can also experience this problem after straining your legs without warming up.
Hamstrings can become strained or torn when your body is put under a lot of stress. This includes running, jumping, and doing other activities with your legs violently or suddenly. When these muscles are damaged, one of the hints it will give you is that pain worsens when you exercise, and it can be very severe. In case of a total tear, you may not be able to move your affected leg at all. The good news is that stretching and warming up before you start exercising can prevent you from getting injured.
Strengthening your hamstrings is also fundamental, and you should ideally work out your legs to prevent this problem in the first place. If you want to strengthen your hamstrings, you can do that with squats and lunges, two exercises you can perform at home without specialized equipment.
