Protection against repeat concussions
Taking a break from your sports activity and games is so important to recover at home even if you are having severe symptoms of concussion. If your symptoms are sustaining without any severe bruising, then you must stop doing your athletic activity and sit out for some time. The brain needs certain time to heal properly, so resting is the key. Children and athletes should be under close supervision by experts or coaches upon resuming the athletic activity. Most of the doctors suggest unanimously not to resume play the same day of your injury or blow to the head. If a person with a concussion history resumes his or her play too soon, then they are at a greater risk of getting a second episode of concussion which can aggravate the brain damage. According to the American Academy of Neurology, there are different guidelines for athletes and children for resuming activities after concussions depending on the severity of their symptoms.
