Legumes
Legumes aid in the production of a short-chain fatty acid, i.e., butyric acid. Butyric acid acts as a natural laxative in the body and increases bowel regularity. Use legumes like peanuts, chickpeas, peas, and lentils to have a healthy gut. Moreover, legumes are also a great source of fiber, providing the necessary bulk to the stool. The fiber from the legumes causes the necessary pressure to ease out the passage of the stool. A cooked bowl of lentils or a handful of nuts is nice food for relieving the situation of constipation.
