DVT can result in different serious complications if not treated and managed on time. It mostly affects the old age people. These complications include:
Pulmonary Embolism (PE):
As the name signifies, it occurs when the clot or part of it detaches (which is known as embolus) and travels towards the lungs hence blocking the blood supply to the lungs. It is a serious medical condition developing very quickly. The patient must be carried to the emergency immediately, as it can result in death.
PE symptoms include:
- Chest Pain
- Fainting
- Difficulty in Breathing
- Fast Heartbeat
