Skin tenting
Skin changes in dehydration can amount to skin tenting in severe dehydration. The skin loses its stretch ability and elasticity to the extent that pinching of the skin does not cause an immediate recoil to attain the previous state, rather it may persist as folds or tents for some time before becoming flat. This is due to loss of cell turgor in the dermal layers. Skin tenting is a common sign of aging, however, dehydration can also manifest like this.
