Causes of dehydration
Dehydration in day to day life can be an outcome of simple imbalance of intake and outtake of fluids. However, some other chronic ailments and clinical conditions can cause dehydration pathologically. [4]
Decreased fluid intake
It is the simplest and most general cause of dehydration. The loss of fluids should be balanced by fluids taken in foods and drinks. However, in babies and toddlers, this is a common reason of dehydration due to lack of proper attention coupled with an inability to communicate needs in babies. Busy adults and dementia patients also tend to skip fluid intake and get dehydrated.
