Autism
Autism spectrum disorder is another condition having links with epilepsy. The link lies in the genetic makeup. Research has shown that similar genetic mutations are seen in both conditions. Autism is a developmental disorder in children, and the intellectual level is highly correlated with risk for epilepsy. However, epileptic children make up only a minority of total autistic children.
