Unknown onset epilepsy
If the site of origin of the seizure cannot be located, it is often termed as an unknown onset seizure. Further investigations are set in order to reach a proper diagnosis of the type. In some cases, where the seizure goes unnoticed, for example a seizure during sleep, or a seizure in unattended patients, it is also known as unknown onset seizures.
