Electroencephalography EEG
This is a diagnostic technique to detect any abnormality in the electrical conduction, or currents generated and conducted through the brain. These electrical currents are recorded as waves, picked up via electrodes from the scalp. Epileptic patients may show some strange electrical waves, even in the intraictal phase, that is between seizures. These waves are detected, and can also hint towards the type of epilepsy, and the area of its origin.
