This is another method which helps in diagnosis by providing a scan of the brain. It uses magnetic waves to achieve a multi-dimensional scan of the brain. MRI helps in detecting any lesion or tumor in the brain, which might be the trigger behind the seizure. MRI is also of help when opting for surgical treatment for epilepsy. It helps in demarcating the boundaries of the tumor or lesion. The surgeon can then skillfully avoid sensitive areas and retract the focal area.
