It is probably worse to drink heavily alone than to drink heavily with pals. Isolating yourself as a result of drinking or drinking alone is a warning sign of alcoholism. Non-alcoholics seldom become intoxicated alone. It doesn’t mean you are buying a liquor bottle because your ex dumped you.
