In this blood disease, there is an accumulation of blood in blood vessels that result in low platelets and some time in small red blood cells also and can lead to dysfunction of kidney, brain, and heart. This disease is prevalent, and about 1 per 100,000 people are affected worldwide. And almost 10% of this disease begins from childhood.

The symptoms of this disease include fever, reduced kidney function, high blood pressure, mentally disturbed, and hemolytic anaemia.

Mostly there are two leading causes of thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura. It may be inherited or the autoimmunity. Autoimmunity is the lack of the activity of the enzyme called ADAMTS13. It is the protein that controls the genes in the blood clotting factor.

The doctor gives medicines to patients such as glucocorticoids, vincristine, rituximab, and cyclosporine. But in severe cases, the surgeries may be done to remove the spleen. Sometime this disease may cause long-lasting effects like brain damage or stroke. So it is essential to treat it as quickly as possible.
