Rheumatoid arthritis
It is a condition that causes inflammation of the joints, especially small joints of the hand. The inflammation of the carpal bone erodes the bone, narrows the carpal tunnel and triggers irritation of the nerves. Both conditions cause compression on the nerve and irritation leading to carpal tunnel syndrome.
