Paralysis of the muscle and loss of sensation
Median nerve palsy is the medical term for loss of movement and sensation in the areas that innervated by the median nerve. It happens after prolonged median nerve damage by persistent untreated carpal tunnel syndrome, splitting or cutting off the median nerve. Muscles atrophy or muscle waste appears after median nerve injury, and it affects the muscles of the thumb, index, middles, ring fingers and the muscles of the palm.
