Cardiovascular disease symptoms vary from person to person. Searches show that men are more likely to have chest pain while women are more likely to have other symptoms along with chest discomforts, such as shortness of breath, nausea and extreme fatigue.
Symptoms can include:
• You may feel chest tightness, chest pain, chest pressure and chest discomfort (angina)
• Shortness of breath
• Pain, numbness, weakness or coldness in legs or arms are also common symptoms of atherosclerotic disease due to narrowing of the blood vessels.
You might not be diagnosed with the atherosclerotic disease until you have a heart attack, angina, stroke or heart failure. It’s important to look for these cardiovascular symptoms and discuss concerns with your physician. Cardiovascular disease can sometimes be identified early with regular evaluations.
