Exercises for leg pain
For those with a herniated disk in the lower spine (lumbar or sacral region), strengthening the hamstrings can help better support their back and core. Try the following exercises for leg pain:
Seated chair stretch
This chair exercise help stretches hamstrings and leg muscles to ease pain and discomfort.
How to do it:
- Sit in a flat-surfaced chair with one foot on the floor. Extend the other foot straight such that placing its heel on the floor.
- Straighten the back and core. Now, lean forward over the extended leg until you feel a gentle stretch along the upper thigh.
- Hold this stretching position for 15–20 seconds.
- Switch legs and repeat for at least three times a day.
