Disc prolapses
It is the medical term of a herniated or slipped disc. It is the most frequent cause of sciatica along with lumbar spondylosis. The herniated disc presses on the adjacent structures, including the sciatic nerve and this gives rise to sciatica. Disc prolapse can cut off the cauda equina, which is a collection of the lower nerve roots of the spinal cord including the sciatic nerve. When the sciatic nerve separated, it will cause urine and stool incontinence, which means no control over passaging urine and stool.
