Neuritis
It is an inflammation of the nerve caused by infectious agents such as bacteria, fungal microorganisms, and viruses. It may be caused by degenerative diseases such as diabetes mellitus, sarcoidosis, and systemic lupus, malnutrition, as well as chronic alcohol consumption, restricted vegans, vitamin B12 deficiency, and some drugs. Sciatic neuritis irritates the nerve, leading to numbness and pain in the lower back, buttock, back of the thigh, and leg of the affected side.
