A good posture helps to keep the vertebrae and intervertebral discs in place and prevents sciatica. In sciatica, an armchair with a pillow provides back support and reduces the pain symptoms. Sleeping on the same side of the affected nerve or sleeping on the back should be avoided to prevent compression of the nerve.
