Physical examination involves the visual detection of presence of any blisters, redness, or sores on a person’s anus, thighs, mouth, buttocks, or genitals. If there are any blisters and sores, your healthcare provider performs a series of further tests to confirm that these sores are resulting from the herpes virus infection.
