Hypertension
The elevation in serum uric acid levels in hypertension or high blood pressure might be due to the decrease in renal blood circulation that comes along with the hypertensive state. Since there is a low renal blood circulation, there is consequently more stimulation of urate reabsorption. Hypertension also leads to the cause of microvascular disease which ultimately results in local tissue ischemia.
