Having Diabetes Mellitus
According to many health care professionals, diabetes promotes the increase in LDL cholesterol levels in the body. The patient who has diabetes often have lower levels of HDL cholesterol and increasing amounts of triglycerides and LDL cholesterol. Both diabetes and high cholesterol level in blood elevate the chances of having heart diseases and strokes. Even in patients if the blood sugar levels are under control, diabetic people tend to have increasing LDL cholesterol and lower amounts of HDL cholesterol.
