Peripheral arterial disease (PAD)

Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is the condition in which the blood vessels surrounding the heart have inflammation in them. The inflammation of blood vessels outside the heart and near lungs impairs the blood circulation by blocking the blood supply to the heart, thus increasing the risks of tachycardiac heart attacks. The inflammation in these blood vessels causes more sticking of the LDL cholesterol from the blood to the walls of vessels. The gradual sticking of LDL cholesterol to the walls of the vessels cause plaque formation, which further blocks the blood supply to the heart and lungs.
