Triglycerides

Triglycerides are the most commonly present fats in the human body. Triglycerides are the main components of fats and fat-based hormones in the body. Triglycerides tend to store the excess amount of fat in your body. When fatty acids are abundant in the blood after digestion, then these fatty acids start storing in the triglycerides. The high level of triglycerides in the blood occurs due to the high intake of fatty foods and lack of physical activity. The high amounts of triglycerides in the blood, combining with high levels of LDL or low-density lipoprotein cholesterol in the blood leads to more accumulation of fats in the walls of arteries.

Higher levels of triglycerides increase the levels of LDL cholesterol in the blood, and the fatty acid accumulation due to high triglyceride and high LDL levels results in the hardening of the walls of arteries, i.e., atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis ultimately leads to more chances and risks of getting heart attacks. High triglyceride levels in the blood also affect other body organs like the pancreas, causing pancreatitis. Pancreatitis is the inflammation of the pancreas due to the buildup of fatty substances. High fat accumulation eventually increases the chances of attaining heart diseases and strokes.
