If you are having hip pain while pregnant, you are not the only woman who is suffering from that problem. Almost 20 percent of women are suffering from some kind of hip pain while pregnant. The pain might be affecting the back or the side of the hip, or in the normal pelvic girdle area. It might feel sharp or dull and come on suddenly or gradually. Hip pain might begin at any point during pregnancy, but it is more likely to happen in the third or second trimesters as your body prepares for the birth of the baby and the baby grows.

But you do not have to worry about such pain; there are several ways to cope with such a situation. If your pain is significantly limiting or severe, you might think of visiting a physical therapist or chiropractor for a professional evaluation. Be sure to tell them that you are pregnant.
