Other Tests

Other diagnostic tests available are CD4+ T cell count test, Home test, and Saliva test, to detect the presence of HIV in the blood. The CD4+ T cells count is measured to figure out the damage done by the HIV infection. The home test is a self-testing procedure available in the US pharmacies under the name of the Home Access Express test. While in the saliva test, the saliva is taken for HIV testing in labs. It is then followed by blood testing in case of a positive result.
