Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a severe condition that might occur frequently, with persistent acid reflux. The acid reflux might lead to abdominal pain in your stomach that travels in your esophagus. This might lead to pain and cramps in the upper abdomen. Since GERD might lead to severe acid reflux, it might also result in severe abdominal pain.
