Fomites

There has been significant research on marvel non-sexual modes of transmission of HPV. For this to be true, the virus has to have a lot of resistance against environmental adverse agents. A research conducted indicates that the virus can withstand desiccation for three days in the least. It is resistant to alcohol-based sanitizers and also to some common disinfectants used in the hospitals. Fomites are any inanimate objects that can serve as vectors for the viral transmission. This may include clothes, towels, utensils etc. Though seen in rare cases, this mode of transmission is documented.
